Poem — Try and try till you succeed
A poem about reviving your resilience, cloaked with excuses and doubts
As a kid, a story I read
“The king and the spider”, it stuck in my head
Days passed into weeks
Weeks galloped o’er months onto years with a few tweaks
Laid buried in my cerebral graveyard
In some dusty tomb among zillions in that junkyard
Confronting daily battles without retrievals like a mouse
I wish our mind was like a data warehouse
“You can’t do this, please don’t do that”
Taunts, haunts, blunders and people that chat
Outward we think and inward we dwell
Not knowing when our defensive mindset swells
“No more, no more” I scream out loud
Read your deeds that did you proud
For the spider who inspired the king and passed on a fable
It is me and us who can truly turn the tables
Results will come only if we make the attempt
Neither half hearted nor for the heck of it, just to avoid moral contempt
Yes, victory is indeed truly sweet
A destined defeat still has the “oh you gave it your all” greet
So raise your arse
Drop your farce
I stand tall and so must you
Never to be bogged down as another effort is overdue
