A poem about the realities of life. It showcases how ironic and never ending are the disparities of life.

“Why should I give you the bread?”
Asked one beggar to another
And he replied, “Coz I don’t want to be dead”
Still unmoved. He shoved that bread under his stinky arms with a smother

The beggar begging to another beggar, again begged
“You may die tomorrow but I don’t think I might make the night”
Narrowing down his suspicious eyes he saw the beggar one legged
The beggar continued, “Please be considerate and feel me plight”

His query, “Tell me first what happened to your leg?”
He looks down in pain and disdain, “Lost it in battle in some war”
The bread comes out, “This is all yours, so please don’t beg”
“Forgive me my dear friend, please do not abhor”

Strange is the irony of life
Two beggars together and between them still, one begs as his strife
