Who am I? What do I keep scribbling?
Oh, so you’re here :)
If somehow you’ve managed to reach this post then firstly “Welcome”. I truly appreciate this.
Now that we’ve got our pleasantries out of the way let me begin by saying that this is neither a story nor an essay. Well, what is it then??? Are you pondering? Believe me, I did think and sometimes I still do. Let us start from the beginning to get some sense of this madness.
What the heck is this all about?
I’ve never really fit into any of the social types growing up and that trend continued into adulthood. As a finished product, I was something that couldn’t be categorized. At least I felt that. This conflict did reflect in my writing endeavours as well. Don’t get me wrong I had no challenges in my creative expressions. I write poetry, short stories, and other stuff and it comes to me with fluidity. So no challenge on that front. I couldn’t identify my category, genre, niche, or whatever you want to call it. Was I a poet? A writer? An artist? I was drawn to it all. This state of confusion continued for a very long time. Years specifically. In a way, I was a jack of all and master of none.
My eureka moment
I was suddenly struck out of the blue one day when I was thinking about this for a long time. I realized that I was fitting into one category in every sphere of my life and that was………no category. It was then that realization dawned upon me that I was a misfit. An abstract category that had no clear-cut personality definition or absolute structure to consume those who were not necessarily outstanding but most certainly stood out. One who doesn’t fit into any category. Simple.
All my creatives are also a mixed bag of poems, short stories, crappy doodles, quotes, rants, and a lot of other nonsense. All put together a set of collectables and that is how The Misfit & subsequently The Misfit Collectables came to life.
So what is this honestly speaking? Is there anything in it for me?
Frankly speaking, it’s more of a tool to express what I want to express. So here’s to more incoming on a lot of unpredictable stuff. Let’s see what pops up in the next basket. A short story? A poem? An essay? With me, you never know. No seriously, it’s because even I never know. I just go with the flow. Until then…..namaste!
